Our 6 Liter Hydro Boat Racer

This project is our 6-liter Hydro Plane. This boat started life in 1992 by owner and builder “Darrel Monett “ out of Syracuse NY. Since then the boat has participated in countless races across the US. Over the years the boat has found a home with many owners.

Just prior to the boat falling into my hands it was lucky enough to be worked on by a Canadian “Jamie Auld”. He began the restoration process by replacing the vessel's deck and sponcen.

I purchased the boat in 2003. The first thing I did was send it back to Canada to “Bert Henderson” where Bert installed a state-of-the-art F-17 Kevlar capsule. In addition, Bert fabricated and installed a new bottom with an escape hatch. When the vessel returned to me, I began the bodywork and painting of the fuselage and hull. The restoration process was finished off with the re-fitting of new hardware.

This restoration was a labor of love. My anticipation of one day racing this boat carried me through the many long hours of hard work and late nights. I hope to begin racing this beautiful racing boat this 2005 season.
